Healthy Swine Producers Study

Nancy Beauregard, a researcher at OSMET, is also the principal investigator of the “Healthy Swine Producers Study”. This study aims to describe the portrait of the working conditions and the determinants of occupational health and safety of pig breeders in Quebec.

The study, carried out in partnership with the Éleveurs de porcs du Québec, is funded by the Robert-Sauvé Research Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (IRSST 2018-2021).

The two main objectives of the study are:

  • Propose a current portrait of the working conditions of Quebec pig breeders
  • Assess the extent to which these conditions make it possible to fully support the health and safety at work as well as the general well-being of the latter.
